The Honolulu Zoo lies in a 42 acre area of the Queen Kapi’olani Park. It is part of the 300 acre royal Queen Kapi’olani Park. The Honolulu Zoo has more than 1,230 animals in designated special habitats. The zoo accommodates more than 601,510 visitors each year. The City & County of Honolulu manages the zoo through the Department of Enterprise Services.
